Located on Sheffield’s Ecclesall Road, Mezwaani Restro & Bar is a landmark project for Amit Dixit Design that redefines fine dining through a philosophy of “Biophilic Storytelling.” Designed as a sanctuary where “Mystic India” meets Oriental minimalism, the interior fosters a deep connection to nature. The space is anchored by material innovation, featuring a backlit bar counter made of natural rubber leaf surfaces that reveal intricate skeletal structures. This organic honesty is complemented by bespoke lighting installations, including handcrafted ceramic pendants and a central canopy of glowing “Lily Pads” that float above the diners, while sliding Shoji screens and timber dividers provide a sophisticated, translucent layering to the floor plan.

The sensory journey continues through a rich tapestry of textures, where textured painted walls and handmade concrete panels add a sense of theatrical drama. The bespoke furniture serves as a primary design feature, with dining chairs upholstered in vibrant leaf motifs to mimic a forest in bloom, contrasted by fixed banquette seating in deep burnt orange velvet. This lush, tactile environment is further enhanced by artificial trees and cascading greenery, creating a cohesive and immersive ecosystem. By blending high-energy lounge areas with a formal dining sanctuary, Mezwaani offers a unique, world-class fusion of Indian and Oriental heritage in the heart of Sheffield.
